“The mechanics of the human birth canal make for a very complicated delivery process compared to other mammals,” said Olivier Ami, M.D., Ph.D., an obstetrician in the Department of Radiology at Antoine Béclères Hospital, Université Paris Sud, France. “We now have computer-simulated childbirth to identify potential problems.”

Using the new software, called PREDIBIRTH, Dr. Ami and a team of researchers processed MR images of 24 pregnant women. The result was a three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction of both the pelvis and the fetus along with 72 possible trajectories of the babys head through the birth canal. Based on these simulations, the program scored each mothers likelihood of a normal birth.

DBA & SOA/BPM with latest OOW updates (8/11/2011)

After the first successful DBA and SOA / BPM day OGH organizes this year a combined  DBA – SOA / BPM day on Tuesday 8th of November 2011.

The organization(with board member Jaime Conejo from AMIS) has chosen the theme of this edition to be ‘Manageabillity’, plus the latest information available from the Oracle OpenWorld.

The subjects in the DBA track will be addressed include the latest version of Enterprise Manager, Identity Management, Security and the SQL Tuning Advisor. The topics in the SOA / BPM track will be addressed including the BI appliance, migration and upgrade forms, Webcenter and BPMN

Ive had an on again off again affair with MobileNoter. MobileNoter is an App and service that allows you to do a two way sync using your mobile device and your OneNote files. Ive used it primarily on the iOS platform.

Now there is a version available for Android Honeycomb Tablets called MobileNoter SE HD. Like its predecessor(s), the App allows you to sync your notes back and forth and you can hook into this syncing via Dropbox or Windows Live Skydrive. MobileNoter has been available for Android but this is the first edition designed to take advantage of the larger  screen real estate of a Tablet.

Not only is this a viewer but you can do some editing of your notes on your Tablet.
