Researchers in Lausanne have come up with a new invention which could help reduce jet engine noise considerably by using loudspeakers, improving the lives of thousands of people living near airports.
However, it could be another decade before the technology is developped and there are no laws yet obliging plane manufacturers to upgrade their engines.
