RSI Injury Protection
Cyberhand Robotics has developed a series of advanced pointing devices, mice, game and 3D tactical controllers, that were designed from the ground up to combat the growing problem of RSI injuries. While we cannot govern lifestyle, we have designed our products from the ground up to minimize or eliminate the strains that cause RSI injuries when used properly. In doing so we believe that we have created the fastest responding, most comfortable, most customizable products of their kind.
RSI Conditions:
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist. CTS is more common in women than it is in men, and has a peak incidence around age 50 (though it can occur at any age).[1] The lifetime risk for CTS is around 10% of the adult population.
DeQuervain's syndrome (also known as washerwoman's sprain, Radial styloid tenosynovitis or De Quervain's disease), named for Swiss surgeon Fritz de Quervain who first identified it in 1885, is an inflammation of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds two tendons that control movement of the thumb.
Intersection syndrome is a painful condition that affects the thumb side of the forearm where two muscles cross over, or intersect, two underlying wrist tendons. Intersection syndrome is often confused with another condition called DeQuervain's syndrome, which is an irritation of the upper set of tendons at the wrist.
Tendonitis is caused by chronic overuse of tendons leads to microscopic tears within the collagen matrix, which gradually weakens the tissue. Swelling in a region of microdamage or partial tear can be detected visually or by palpation. Increased water content and disorganised collagen matrix in tendon lesions may be detected by ultrasonography or magnetic resonance imaging.
